About our fleet
The Fleet was created on January 29, 2010 the first day of early access. We currently have over 300 members from around the world.
We are always recruiting new members of all ranks.
We have a ventrillo server (IP 208.122.45.110 and Port Number 6094) It is preferred but only required for fleet missions for ease of communications.
ALPHA SQUADRONS HISTORY
In early 2160 after the Earth-Romulan war it was found that earth needed a specialized force to guard its’ borders and so Alpha Squadron was founded. Four ships from UESPA
were commissioned for this task they patrolled the Romulan neutral zone.
In 2161 with the founding of the United Federation of Planets Alpha Squadron was expanded to 10 ships and were spread out further along the newly designated borders of what would come to be known as Federation space. For a little over 50 years the ships handled mostly skirmishes with Orion Pirates and have been credited with freeing over 100,000 slaves. When an outbreak of hostilities happened between the federation and the klingon empire. 5 of the ships from alpha squadron were diverted from normal patol duties and were assigned to the border of klingon space.
In the late 2260’s a cold war developed between the federation and klingon empire and Starfleet moved 10 more ships into service within alpha squadron these were assigned to patrol tholian and gorn borders.
The squadron increased in size by 1 ship every 2 years for the next 20 years bringing the total number of vessels to 30. Alpha Squadron did not loose a ship until the Borg invasion of 2367. In the battle of Wolf 359 seven ships from the unit were lost with all hands and one was severely damaged and had to be abandoned.
Due to current hostilities Alpha Squadron has been expanded to more than 100 ships they are assigned to patrol the most dangerous areas in and around the federation, the crews of these vessels are among the most highly trained members of Starfleet.
